Many players at FC Barcelona dream of establishing themselves as superstars in the first team. However, it is perhaps even more important to reach that point and then aim to help the first team in terms of creating history.

That seems to be the goal that Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo has in mind moving forward. Despite all the doubts and reports linking him to an exit, the 26-year-old defender remains fully committed to staying at Barça and succeeding with them.

Moreover, according to Mundo Deportivo, no surprise exits are expected in the winter transfer window, and the player is now fully committed to Barcelona following his renewal. In fact, he did not even decide to make any use of his €65 million release clause that was active in the previous summer transfer window.

Furthermore, MD claims that the player would ideally wish to end his career at Barça if he could. Currently contractually committed to the club until 2031, the Uruguayan defender sees himself defending the club’s badge for the years to come.

Ultimately, however, his goal is to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy with the club, which is still the only title that he has yet to win with the team.

Now taking on the challenge of this new season with a renewed desire to succeed, Araujo has been doing well so far. However, it will take more than that to fully overcome the difficult scenarios that he has had to face in the past, but he seems more than willing to manage that.
