Bayern Munich are monitoring Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey ahead of the summer transfer window, according to The Independent.

The 24-year-old has impressed in his first Premier League campaign after joining from Ajax last summer, with performances that have drawn interest from leading European clubs.

Brobbey signed for around £17 million, potentially rising to £21.5 million with add-ons, and he has made a strong impact on Wearside.

He has six goals in 25 appearances, yet it is his power, movement and ability to lead the line that are said to appeal to elite sides.

A Netherlands international who featured at Euro 2024, he is expected to be in contention for the World Cup squad, which could further raise his value.

His arrival formed part of Sunderland’s data-driven recruitment, credited with underpinning their progress since promotion. Any potential fee would likely exceed last summer’s outlay, and there is no indication the club are willing to sell as they target a strong finish and plan for a key window.
