Brighton & Hove Albion are reported to have reached a verbal agreement with BSC Young Boys regarding the transfer of Jaouen Hadjam (23), according to Foot Mercato. The final details of the deal are reportedly being finalised.

Having come through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and Créteil, the left-back made his professional debut for Paris FC, which he joined in 2018. Transferred to FC Nantes in the winter of 2023, Hadjam spent just one year there before moving to the Bern-based club. In Switzerland, the Paris-born player quickly established himself as a key player for BSC, but saw his progress hampered by a syndesmotic ligament tear last January.

Despite this injury, he still managed to make 30 appearances last season, proving decisive on six occasions with two goals and four assists.

An Algerian international with 21 caps, Hadjam notably played in this summer’s World Cup, featuring in three of the four matches played by Les Fennecs in the tournament.
