Bryan Bergougnoux, triple French champion with OL, dies aged 43

According to L'Équipe, Bryan Bergougnoux, a former forward and assistant coach at Le Havre last season, died on Friday aged 43.
A youth product of OL, he won three French league titles with the club. His playing career also took him to Toulouse, Lecce, Châteauroux, Omonia Nicosia and Tours. He scored 9 goals in 20 caps for France Under-21s.
An attacking player who later dropped deeper, he moved into coaching with Thonon-Évian Grand Genève then Tours. Diagnosed with parotid cancer, he continued working while undergoing treatment.
Last season he joined Didier Digard’s staff in Normandy, helping Le Havre from the bench. The team secured a third straight survival.
On Friday he was due to play in a legends tournament in Toulouse alongside other former Toulouse players, having taken part last year. He is said to have fallen ill.
