FLW’s Burnley fan pundit has commented on Everton’s interest in Zian Flemming.
Burnley will be aiming to build on an impressive fightback during their opening game of the 2026-27 Championship campaign.
The Clarets were two goals down to West Ham last Sunday afternoon, with strikes from Max Kilman and Manor Solomon putting Burnley boss Nicky Hayen on course for his first competitive league defeat.
But Burnley managed to show their mettle, battling back to secure a point, as two goals from Zian Flemming in the final 10 minutes of the contest ensured the spoils were shared and that Burnley got their first point on the board of the new season.
There’s much for boss Nicky Hayen to be optimistic about as his side showed so much heart and desire in adversity to get a result, but he will remain worried about the future of forward Flemming, who is so vital to Burnley having a chance of gaining immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
Flemming has been a sought-after forward throughout the summer transfer window, with his goalscoring exploits last season at Turf Moor potentially handing him a route back into top-flight football.
The Dutchman has been vocal on preferring a move back to the Premier League if one was to become available, but it hasn’t materialised just yet despite such heavy interest.
After hitting 11 goals in 29 Premier League games, Flemming has had reported interest from the likes of Brentford, Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Coventry City, with Burnley reportedly willing to listen to offers in the region of around €20m (£17.3m).
Burnley fearful that Flemming will make a late exit, at a time when the team is in such desperate need of his goals.

As per a recent post from journalist Ben Jacobs on his X account, Everton are believed to be entering the race to secure Zian Flemming’s signature.
Toffees boss David Moyes recently admitted that his side have a lot of work left to do during the remainder of the summer transfer window, and bolstering their forward department with Flemming could be an option, with Moyes watching his display last Sunday from the stands at Turf Moor.
According to Jacobs, Flemming has drawn interest from Everton, but the Merseyside outfit are expected to face competition from clubs in Italy, France and his native Netherlands, while Burnley remain hopeful that they can hold onto their star striker.

Speaking to Football League World, Burnley fan pundit Aaron Wright has said the Clarets should be demanding upwards of £35m for Zian Flemming.
Aaron has admitted the bar should be placed very high due to how important he is for the team and the stage of the transfer window they risk losing him at.
When asked what price Burnley should set for Flemming, Aaron told FLW: “£35m for two reasons. One, it’s funny and two, he’s the man to get us promoted.
“Promotion is worth £120m, so if you want to take the player that’s potentially going to fire us to that, then pay up.
“You’re looking at that sort of price. £30m and then £5m for the inconvenience of doing it this late and being the last to the table of Burnley players, so it is really the only thing we can do.
“Do I think Burnley will take less than £35m? Yes, I do, they’ll probably take £25m, but for me, he’s the most important player we have.”

Zian Flemming showcased once again why he is so important to this Burnley side on the opening weekend of the new Championship season, with his goals vital to the Clarets being positioned towards the top end of the second tier standings.
But while it was such an impressive performance, it has only attracted further interest, with Everton and David Moyes clearly impressed with what they saw.
Flemming was exceptional in the Premier League last season too, getting into double figures for goals despite being in such a poor side at that level – an incredible feat.
It’s clear he’s deserving of another crack at the top-flight in a more established side, and there’s no denying Everton would be an ideal place, with the Toffees not having the most flowing scorers on their books in either Thierno Barry or Beto.
Nicky Hayen has made a rallying cry for Flemming to remain at the club until January at least following his West Ham heroics, and it’s clear to see why, with an exit at this point of the transfer window leaving the Lancashire outfit scrambling around to find another striker to fill such a gaping hole.
Much of Burnley’s promotion hopes rest on Flemming sticking around, and if he does depart, then you do feel the club will have an almighty task on their hands be in the promotion mix come the end of the season.
It’s a transfer saga that has massive ramifications for the Clarets and is so important to their promotion hopes, with all connected to the club hoping that Flemming won’t have his head turned in the next couple of weeks.
