CD Castellón enter the final five matches chasing a first return to Primera División in 35 years. They are fourth on 64 points, three behind second-placed Almería and five off leaders Racing, firmly in the play-off places.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, supporters in the Plaza Mayor voiced optimism and conviction that the team can go up.

Alejandro, in a Castellón shirt, called promotion close after a long wait and said the city is transformed. He wants direct promotion but, after recent refereeing decisions, expects fourth, tipping Racing and Almería and hoping Castellón join them, insisting that without errors they would be second or first.

Fans also praised Voulgaris and the club’s use of big data, crediting Bob’s methods with changing course and fuelling belief.

Veterans Vicent Taus, member number 19, and Vicent Ibáñez backed the push. Taus predicted second place with 75 points and said a return would lift the city, while Ibáñez preferred not to see Racing go up and urged support for the current project after years of hardship.

Joaquín feels the squad have the potential to succeed but expects the play-offs, with one or two teams still clear. He hailed the planning since Voulgaris arrived as decisive after debts had left the club close to the brink.
