Castellón feel chase intensify as Segunda table shifts after Sunday | OneFootball

Castellón’s cushion shrank on Sunday as their Segunda pursuers closed in, though they remain in the play-off positions.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, their rivals narrowed the gap after Sunday’s programme.

Andorra thrashed UD Las Palmas 5-1, despite Jesé putting the visitors ahead with a 17th-minute penalty, then overran them after the break. Las Palmas sit fifth, one point above Castellón, with Andorra’s play-off hopes looking almost out of reach.

Racing de Santander won 1-2 at Leganés in a match decided after half-time. At 0-1 and under pressure, a counter ended in a penalty following a lengthy VAR review.

Asier Villalibre converted for 0-2, and although Luis Asué struck late, Racing’s victory leaves them two from promotion.

SD Eibar triumphed 0-1 at CD Mirandés thanks to an early Magunazelaia goal, extending their strong away form. They are now one behind Castellón and will visit them on the final day.

Córdoba beat Granada at El Arcángel, earning three valuable points. Superior for long spells, they found the winner through Jacobo González in the second half while down to 10 after Percan’s dismissal.

Castellón now host Cádiz on Friday at SkyFi Castalia at 20.30, then travel to Huesca before finishing at home to Eibar. The first two are fighting for survival, the last are direct rivals for the top places.
