CD Castellón have completed the first phase of the Ciudad Deportiva Globeenergy in la Coma de Borriol. Whatever happens in the promotion race to Primera División, the 2025/26 season will be the complex’s debut.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, one year after work began the club now considers the initial stage finished. After acquiring the land, the plan was unveiled last April and construction started almost immediately, prioritising the natural meadow area.
The first team began training there in late July on the first completed pitch, and that section is now complete bar final touches. It features pro-standard pitches used by Pablo Hernández’s side and will later serve leading academy teams.
The natural meadow zone also includes specialist areas for goalkeepers and rehabilitation, set on the lower part of the 122,236 square metre plot. The club bought the site for around two million euros and estimates an investment of more than 18 million to complete the complex.
Next works will deliver the permanent car park for staff and players, the main building and the Mini Estadi. The multipurpose hub is planned to house changing rooms, a gym, medical and health facilities, nutrition spaces, management offices and a press room.
Until now the club led by Haralabos Voulgaris has used modular units moved from the Orpesa complex last summer. The Mini Estadi is also a priority in phase two, intended for the reserves, the women’s team and Juvenil A. CD Castellón B could play there next season, with capacity around 3,000.
Separate to the training complex, the club are planning works at Estadio SkyFi Castalia once the season ends, regardless of promotion.
