Ceilândia to host the Beach Soccer Nations Cup

The Federal District has stood out on the Brazilian beach soccer scene in recent years, hosting important competitions on the national calendar and producing talents for the sport. And now it is time to welcome the most successful national team in the history of the sport. Brazil will be represented by its men’s and women’s teams in the Nations Cup, an international competition that will bring together several teams and major names in the sport in Ceilândia, and will be broadcast by Sportv and getv.

Arena Guariroba will host the matchups between Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, and Peru in the men’s tournament, and Brazil, El Salvador, Espírito Santo State Team, and Brasília State Team in the women’s tournament. The matches will take place between September 18 and 20, starting at 4:00 p.m., with four games each day.

Head coach Chicão Castelo Branco called up 12 players and opted for a squad combining renowned names and young talents. In total, there are eight players who have already won the FIFA World Cup title and four who are beginning their journey with the national team, still with only a few call-ups.

“The process of transitioning from a winning generation to the arrival of new athletes has to exist, but with the right process and in an intelligent way. We are already preparing our national team for the most important competition we will have in the short and medium term, which is the Copa América next year, the qualifier for the 2027 World Cup. So we will use every competitive opportunity we have to find that balance and encourage our stars to always give their best on the field,” said the coach.

For the Women’s National Team, Rose Andrade called up four players who will make their debut with the Canarinho. Also in the process of renewing the squad, Rose is keeping an eye on the new talents that are emerging.

“The scouting work, not only by me but by everyone on the coaching staff, is constant. We are always looking for girls who are showing in their regional championships that they deserve an opportunity with the Brazilian National Team. This time we are going to give these four athletes an opportunity, and I truly believe they will play a good role during the tournament,” said Rose, referring to wingers Micaela, Luana, and Tamara, and pivot Renata.

Both teams will report to Brasília between the 13th and 14th to begin training at Arena Guariroba.
