Previewing Chelsea's Premier League clash against Hull City.
Xabi Alonso has named his Chelsea side to face Hull City at Stamford Bridge on September 12.
Chelsea saw their winning start in the Premier League come to an end last Sunday following a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, who came from behind after Morgan Rogers' early opener at the Emirates.
After a thrilling 6-3 victory over Leeds United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, the positive and winning feeling is already back, and Chelsea will be keen to get back on the winning train in the league.
Hull City have never beaten Chelsea in their last 10 league meetings (D2, L8), but they hope their incredible defensive record this season could change their fortunes against the Blues.
Sergej Jakirović's side are yet to concede in the league this season after three games played, which has seen the Tigers beat Manchester United and Coventry City, along with an opening day goalless draw against Aston Villa.
They now come up against Chelsea's attack, which consists of Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro - all three starting in west London for Saturday's match. Jakirovic joked pre-match that the only way to stop them would be to 'kick them'.
As expected, Emiliano Martinez comes back into the side to replace Mike Penders, who started against Leeds.
Wesley Fofana is joined in defence by Levi Colwill and Jorrel Hato. With no clean sheet in the league yet, they will be keen to limit Hull to a few chances to ensure they don't follow their previous three league outings of conceding at least two goals per game.
Romeo Lavia is partnered by Reece James in the centre of midfield, with Pedro Neto and Malo Gusto operating as wing-backs for the hosts.
Josh Acheampong, Maxence Lacroix and Estevao Willian all start on the bench.
Chelsea will hope to claim victory in their final home game before the September international break, with an away trip to Brentford next Friday to conclude the first section of the 2026/27 campaign.
