Club In Talks To Land Winger On Rangers’ Radar, Gers Option Could Move | OneFootball

Rangers are facing competition in their pursuit of Fenerbahce winger Oguz Aydin, as Turkish side Amed SK are holding talks to land him.

Derek McInnes is still searching for his first victory in the Rangers dugout after the Gers were beaten 2-1 by Hibernian on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership.

The Glasgow giants remain intent on adding further quality to McInnes’ squad, having already conducted considerable business during the summer window while continuing to seek further additions.

Strengthening the wide areas remains high on their agenda, with Daisuke Yokota has recently been brought in to bolster the wide department.

Rangers have agreed a fee with PSV Eindhoven now for Couhaib Driouech, however there remains the risk others may hijack the deal and the Gers look to have a number of backup options, including Aydin.

Fenerbahce’s Aydin has caught Rangers’ attention, with the Turkey international considered to possess the attributes they have been seeking for their wide department.

Aydin has also drawn interest from a number of clubs across Europe, placing his future under increasing scrutiny this summer.

Now Amed SK have now moved to intensify their interest in the winger, and ‘talks are under way’ over a potential agreement, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Should Aydin reach an agreement on personal terms with the Turkish outfit, they will ‘proceed to the official signing stage’ with Fenerbahce in an attempt to complete the transfer.

Whether Amed SK can reach an understanding with the winger remains unresolved, but Rangers may have little room for hesitation if they are serious about securing his services.

Aydin could, however, choose to prolong his career within Turkish football, which would leave Rangers’ hopes in jeopardy given that he has never played outside Turkey during his senior career.

Rangers are now facing a few crucial weeks in the transfer window as they look to give McInnes the tools he needs to fight for the Scottish Premiership title and make progress in Europe.
