Any chance of a late Leeds United move for Igor Paixao could well be slim as Marseille are continuing to demand €50m to let the Brazilian go and are expecting an approach from Saudi Arabia.
Leeds have added just Harry Wilson to their attacking options so far this summer and are expected to switch focus to that area when Nico Elvedi signs.
Centre-back Elvedi is currently in the process of going through his medical at Leeds ahead of completing a €10m move from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Paixao was Leeds’ top target last summer, but he decided to join Marseille instead.
Last term, the 26-year-old made 30 Ligue 1 appearances and contributed to 12 goals, while helping Marseille secure European football.

Marseille did miss out on the Champions League though and there are financial pressures at the club as they look to make sales.
Leeds have rekindled their interest in Paixao and held talks over a move, though the winger is reluctant to leave and the Whites value him at €35m and not €50m.
Marseille are not changing their stance and, according to French journalist Santi Aouna, continue to value Paixao at €50m.
The French giants fully expect an approach from a club in Saudi Arabia before the transfer window slams shut.
Paixao arrived at Marseille from Feyenoord last summer, and with four years left on his current deal, the French side believe he has a high valuation.

With Leeds preparing to sell Joel Piroe to West Ham, they will have one fewer body in the attacking department and it remains to be seen if they try to lower Marseille’s Paixao price.
Having spent heavily on James Trafford and Tarik Muharemovic, Leeds will be reluctant to pay €50m.
Marseille manager Bruno Genesio is keen to keep Paixao, despite his club’s need to raise cash.
Now all eyes are on whether the approach Marseille expect to receive from Saudi Arabia materialises and, if it does, whether they can achieve their €50m valuation of the Brazilian.
