Corinthians’ progress to the Conmebol Libertadores quarter-finals has delivered a significant cash boost. According to Globo.com, the club banked US$1.7m, about R$9m, for securing their place, taking this season’s haul to roughly R$25.8m.

Before the quarter-finals, Corinthians had already received US$1m, around R$5.1m, for the group stage, US$1.02m, around R$5.3m, for three group wins, and US$1.25m, around R$6.4m, for reaching the last 16.

If they overcome Estudiantes of Argentina and advance to the semi-finals, Corinthians will receive a further US$2.3m, roughly R$11.95m.
