Corinthians supporters have given a broadly positive verdict on the club’s first 2026 transfer window, citing focused additions and relief to the wage bill.

According to Meu Timao, a poll of 230 votes held after the window closed on Tuesday saw 60% back the view that signings were targeted and finances adjusted, while 23.9% felt the squad is lean but competitive. On the critical side, some focused on the work led by executive Marcelo Paz under president Osmar Stabile, with 10.9% saying a decisive signing was missing and 5.2% questioning the planning.

The market opened on five January, though for Corinthians it only took effect on nine January, once a transfer ban in place since August 2025 was lifted. In under two months the club confirmed eight arrivals for the campaign.

They were centre-back Gabriel Paulista, full-backs Fabrizio Angileri and Pedro Milans, midfielders Allan, Matheus Pereira, Zakaria Labyad and Jesse Lingard, and forward Kaio César.

There were 11 departures and an estimated R$ 1.5 million saving on last year’s wage bill. Contracts were terminated with Fagner, Héctor Hernández and José Martínez.

Loans took Félix Torres to Internacional, Cacá to Vitória, Diego Palacios to Universidad Católica, Ryan to Fortaleza, and Matheus Donelli to Shabab Al-Ahli in the United Arab Emirates. The club also chose not to renew with Maycon, Talles Magno and Ángel Romero.

With the window shut, the CBF has extended the registration period for Séries A and B clubs, allowing domestic deals from four to 27 March. Only players who have featured in this season’s state championships, or who terminated contracts within the first window, can be registered.

The second 2026 window is scheduled for 20 July to 11 September.
