Corinthians saw the GYM trio start together for the first time in more than three months, but lost 2-0 to Argentina’s Platense in the final round of the Libertadores group stage at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday night. According to Meu Timao, Rodrigo Garro, Yuri Alberto and Memphis were restored to the XI.
Their previous joint start was the 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino in Itaquera on 12 February in the Brasileirão.
Four days later Yuri Alberto sustained a grade two injury to his left hamstring and only returned the following month. Memphis was out from 22 March with a problem in the back of his right thigh, making his comeback last Sunday against Atlético-MG.
Rodrigo Garro’s omission was tactical, with then head coach Dorival Júnior preferring other options. He regained a starting berth after Fernando Diniz took charge.
This season the trio have begun only three matches, including the defeat by Bahia on 18 January and the reverse to Platense. Since 2024 they have started 28 games together, recording 17 wins, five draws and six defeats, with 33 goals and 19 assists.
The reunion will be brief, as Memphis Depay will miss Saturday’s game against Grêmio to join up with the Netherlands for World Cup preparations.
