Corinthians host América-MG in Copa do Brasil Under-20 opener

On the afternoon of this Saturday (21), the Corinthians under-20 team takes the field for the first match of the 2026 season. In the debut of the Brasileirão in this category, Timãozinho hosts América-MG at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, starting at 3 PM (Brasília time).

The black-and-white team is trying to change direction after a frustrating campaign in the Copinha. Corinthians was eliminated in the second phase of the main youth tournament in Brazilian football, losing 2-1 to Guarani, from Campinas.

Probable lineup

Looking to start the competition on the right foot, coach William Batista is likely to field an initial 11 with Matheus Corrêa; João Vitor Jacaré, Iago Machado, Lorenzo, and Guilherme Pires; Caraguá, Luiz Eduardo, and Gui Amorim; Luiz Fernando, Nícollas, and Luiz Fábio.

Broadcast

The match will be exclusively broadcast by Corinthians TV, the club's official channel on YouTube. Central do Timão will provide all the details of the decisive game after the final whistle.

Refereeing

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has appointed Fagson Junior dos Santos Silva as the referee for the match between Corinthians and América-MG. He will be assisted by Leandra Aires Cossette and Gabriel Rodrigues Santos, while Gabriel Furlan will act as the fourth official of the match.

Next commitment

After the clash against América-MG, Corinthians returns to the field next Thursday (26), at 3 PM (Brasília time), to face Bahia. The match will be valid for the second round of the Under-20 Brazilian Championship and will be played at Cidade Tricolor (Evaristo Macedo Training Center).
