Corinthians push to sign Renato Sanches after Getafe move falls through | OneFootball

Renato Sanches (29) recently saw his contract at Paris Saint-Germain terminated by mutual consent. It came after successive loan moves away from the Parc des Princes, during which he struggled to consistently regain form and fitness. It has been a recurrent issue throughout the Portuguese midfielder’s career.

Last season, while on loan at Panathinaikos in Greece, he managed 24 games in all competitions. The season before that, spent on loan at Benfica, he managed 21 appearances, and prior to that, he had made just 12 appearances while on loan at AS Roma.

A free agent, Sanches had been the subject of an approach from Getafe, however, Foot Mercato understands that that deal has now fallen through. The publication adds that it looks increasingly likely that the former Lille OSC midfielder will leave Europe altogether.

Corinthians are pushing to sign the midfielder, Foot Mercato understands. The Brazilian club have just submitted a second offer to acquire his services. There is another – unnamed – Brazilian club also in the mix.
