Corinthians resume Angileri talks, hopeful of keeping full-back

Talks between Corinthians and Fabrizio Angileri have resumed in recent days, and the left-back has expressed his desire to remain at the club, according to information gathered by Central do Timão. Even without a deal finalized so far, the club’s management is betting precisely on the player’s willingness to move negotiations forward and reintegrate him into the squad led by coach Dorival Júnior.

Angileri had a contract with Corinthians valid until the end of 2025, but negotiations for his stay had previously been interrupted due to financial obstacles. These disagreements prevented an agreement at that time, which kept the Argentine away from activities with the main group. Still, the full-back’s interest has always been to stay at the club, and that’s why he didn’t reach an agreement with another team.

Now, the situation is being viewed with more optimism internally. The assessment at Parque São Jorge is that keeping the player could be strategic, especially given the current squad available for the position. At the moment, Dorival Júnior only has Matheus Bidu and Hugo as options for left-back.

Given this context, retaining Fabrizio Angileri is seen as an alternative to avoid going to the market in search of a new reinforcement for the position and not having to spend the club’s resources. The parties continue to talk, and Corinthians is working to find a financial solution that allows for a positive outcome in the negotiations.
