Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped to head for Hollywood once his playing days end, with Mikael Silvestre backing him to make it on screen. There is no suggestion he is Los Angeles bound yet, but a fresh challenge is expected in time.
"I think the sky is the limit for him. Everything that he touches or invests himself in becomes a successful business," he told Goal.com. "If Vinnie Jones can become an actor, a good-looking guy like Cristiano for sure can do the job."
For now, the 41-year-old is under contract at Al-Nassr, with 12 months left on the game’s most lucrative deal. He still eyes 1,000 competitive goals and hopes to play alongside son Cristiano Junior if he makes the step up.
An international career of 223 caps and 146 goals continues, with Euro 2028 and a home World Cup in 2030 not ruled out. New terms taking him into his mid-40s could follow.
A move to the United States could even rekindle his rivalry with Lionel Messi in MLS, with California among mooted options. That would put him by Hollywood’s door, and he already runs his own studio.
Emmanuel Petit has also argued that sportspeople can thrive in film, citing Eric Cantona, Vinnie Jones, David Ginola and Frank Leboeuf. He even floated the idea of an Oscar one day, noting Ronaldo’s charisma and huge reach.
Given his habit of meeting daunting targets, few would dismiss Ronaldo succeeding in Hollywood if he goes.
