Cruzeiro sign Matías Viña on loan from Flamengo with US$ 4.5 million option | OneFootball

Cruzeiro have signed left-back Matías Viña on loan from Flamengo until the end of 2026, with a purchase option set at US$ 4.5 million.

Viña had been at River Plate since January but terminated that agreement. According to Globo.com, his registration appeared on the BID on Friday.

Cruzeiro moved for the left-back in the final days of the transfer window. Short of opportunities at River, he accepted the offer from the Minas Gerais club.

He is targeting regular minutes and will compete with Villalba and Gabriel Rojas. River Plate will pay part of his salary.

His River loan had been due to run to 2026, after which he would return to Flamengo, with whom he is tied until 2028. The Argentine club had sought to send him back earlier but faced the obligation to cover his wages until the original loan end.
