Cuca has matched Santos’ longest winless run of the year, seven games without a victory, previously seen under former coach Vojvoda.
According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos last won on 11 April, beating Atlético-MG 1-0 at Vila Belmiro in the 11th round of the Brasileiro.
Since then they have drawn six times, against Recoleta twice, Coritiba, Bahia, San Lorenzo and Palmeiras, and lost once to Fluminense.
Earlier in 2026, under the previous staff, they opened with a 2-1 win over Novorizontino at Vila Belmiro on 10 January. That was followed by draws with Guarani, Corinthians, Bragantino and São Paulo, plus defeats to Palmeiras, Chapecoense and São Paulo.
That drought ended with a 2-1 victory at Noroeste, at Alfredo de Castilho, in the 7th round of the state championship on 8 February. The team have now reached the same mark under Cuca.
Cuca’s record stands at 12 matches, with two wins, seven draws and three defeats, a 36% return.
