Leeds United climbed to 13th in the Premier League with victory over Brighton, but Daniel Farke voiced concern after Anton Stach suffered an ankle injury.

Leedsunited.news reports that the Germany international was stretchered off after Carlos Baleba landed on his ankle, with the national squad due to be announced on 21 May.

Stach went down in clear discomfort during the second half and received lengthy treatment. He briefly tried to continue, then blood was seen around the ankle and he was carried off.

Farke said he could not yet judge the severity, describing it as an ankle issue and stressing they must wait for medical checks. He hoped it was not serious, noting the World Cup is approaching, but accepted he was only guessing at this stage.

Brenden Aaronson was also withdrawn, though Farke was far more relaxed, describing it as a dead leg and expecting him to be fine.

The timing will worry Germany ahead of their squad reveal. Leeds are unlikely to take unnecessary risks before the season ends, and further assessment will determine Stach’s availability to face West Ham.
