Dante ‘to consider’ Franck Ribéry as Bayern Munich U23 assistant | OneFootball

Nice captain Dante, who will become Bayern Munich’s U23 coach at the end of the season, could appoint Franck Ribéry as his assistant, with a decision expected in the coming days. Bild and SkySport Deutschland report he is seriously considering the former winger for the role.

Dante is set to end his playing career at OGC Nice next month as he prepares to take charge in Munich.

Ribéry is currently in Coverciano working towards his third coaching qualification, the pro licence he could obtain in June. He has never hidden his desire to return to the club of his heart, where he won everything between 2007 and 2019.

“Once I have all these qualifications, I could possibly take charge of a youth team or become an assistant coach at a good club under a good manager,” Ribéry said to Bayern’s channel in mid-January.

“As a former professional, I have a lot of experience. But it was only after my playing career that I realised how difficult the coaching job really is, and that it also promises to be exciting.”
