According to L'Équipe, Demba Ba is to be appointed Le Havre's director of football in the coming days, with the delegated president at Dunkerque set to succeed Mathieu Bodmer.
The move forms part of a broader strengthening of resources by owner Blue Crow. The group has provided guarantees to the DCNG in recent hours, which should lift current limits on transfers and the wage bill.
Several meetings between the owners, club president Jean-Michel Roussier and Ba have shaped the new structure. Blue Crow intends to invest in training facilities and fund some moves this summer, a condition for Ba, who had interest from Lorient and abroad, to commit.
Ba is expected to bring Quentin Rauzier, formerly of Paris FC, as sporting coordinator, and Romain Decool as head of recruitment. The switch is seen as coherent, with Bodmer having built Le Havre's rise through Ligue 2 then Ligue 1 with limited means, and Ba regarded as a promising operator after guiding Dunkerque to last season's promotion play-offs.
The precise timing of his arrival is still to be finalised. Ba has told Dunkerque's owners he plans a smooth transition and could support the club in the very short term. Dunkerque may initially opt for an internal solution, potentially appointing a sporting director while they adjust their structure.
