Dominique Delport announces he is becoming Bordeaux president as James Bord named investor | OneFootball

The sale of Bordeaux was completed today, with Gérard Lopez’s shares transferred to UK fund Sparta Capital. Dominique Delport said in a post that he is becoming the club’s new president and identified British entrepreneur James Bord as the investor behind the takeover.

The former M6 editor-in-chief said he was proud to lead a club he grew up with. Bordeaux are provisionally relegated to Régionale 1.

Delport is working alongside Bord, 45, who runs Park Bench LLC.

The agreement between the parties would lapse if the club, excluded from national competitions on 30 June, are not readmitted to the fourth tier.

Bord sets out a long road ahead and believes that, with sensible sporting and financial decisions, a focus on the academy, partnership with the community and patience, Bordeaux could regain their rightful place.

Delport intends to address everyone, especially supporters, but only after the CNOSF process following an appeal filed this week.
