Duje Caleta-Car will return to Lyon after spending the season on loan at Real Sociedad.

The club said in a statement that the loan had ended. It also thanked Caleta-Car and fellow loanee Wesley Gassova, a Brazilian winger from Al-Nassr, and noted Saturday's match in Barcelona against Espanyol closed an unforgettable campaign.

The Croatia international started the Copa del Rey final win over Atlético de Madrid in April, a 2-2 draw settled 4-3 on penalties.

The 29-year-old made 27 La Liga appearances, including 24 starts.

Real Sociedad decided not to activate their option to buy, set at 4 million euros.
