Eddie Howe 'to leave' Newcastle United, reports say | OneFootball

Sunderland Echo reports that Eddie Howe is set to leave Newcastle United after almost five years in charge.

Howe, 48, delivered the club's first major silverware in 70 years by winning the Carabao Cup in 2025, and he twice qualified for the Champions League after taking over in November 2021.

Last season proved underwhelming as Newcastle finished 12th in the Premier League.

This summer has been testing, with Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali departing, while uncertainty persists over captain Bruno Guimaraes.

Howe was still in the dugout for a 4-1 pre-season defeat at Bristol City on Wednesday night.
