Elland Road expansion gathers pace as capacity set to reach 53,000 | OneFootball

Construction at Elland Road is accelerating ahead of the new season, with a major redevelopment lifting capacity from 37,645 to 53,000.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, work around the West and North Stands includes removing the Banqueting Suite and demolishing the ticket office.

The external structure by the West Stand is being taken down, and floodlights behind the stand have been removed.

Inside the ground, work on the pitch and dugouts will be complete in time for next season.

Supporters can expect improved seating, comfort and sightlines throughout the new West Stand.

Leeds United are next expected to host RB Leipzig in a pre-season friendly on the weekend of 8-9 August.
