Ellyes Skhiri completes Cologne return on 2028 deal

Ellyes Skhiri has joined Cologne from Eintracht Frankfurt on a contract running until 2028. He is set to bolster a midfield that appears short on options.

Sky Germany reports the fee is around €1.5m, with approximately €1m agreed as a fixed payment.

The Tunisia international made 82 Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt across three seasons. He also featured 32 times in Europe, including the UEFA Champions League.

On his departure, Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung thanked Skhiri, noting his team-first approach and professionalism, and wished him well on and off the pitch.

The 31-year-old’s switch marks a return to the Billy Goats after three years away.
