“Especially the Old Lady” Cuadrado thanks Juventus as he leaves European football | OneFootball

Juan Cuadrado has officially left European football after agreeing a deal to join Millonarios, and he has thanked Juventus for giving him a long and successful spell on the continent.

The Colombian was on the books of the Bianconeri between 2015 and 2023 and served as club captain for part of his final months at the club before Juventus released him as a free agent.

Cuadrado was a valuable servant for the Bianconeri and helped them dominate Italian football, winning five consecutive league titles at the club. He was also part of the group that reached the Champions League final in 2017.

The Colombian enjoyed an accomplished career in Italian football, having also played for Udinese, Lecce, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Atalanta and Pisa. He won the Premier League title at Chelsea, but as he left the continent to begin a new chapter at his new club, he sent special thanks to Juve.

Cuadrado reflects on European career

Cuadrado spent most of his European career in Italy, where he established himself as an important player for several clubs. His time at Juventus was particularly successful, as he played a role in their sustained dominance of Italian football.

His departure from European football marks the end of a long period on the continent, during which he experienced success in both Italy and England. The Colombian has now chosen to continue his career with Millonarios.

Cuadrado made clear that Juventus holds a special place in his career, while also expressing gratitude to all the clubs that contributed to his development. His statements read via Calciomercato:

“After almost 20 years in Europe, I don’t know what to write. Simply thank you to all the clubs that allowed me to grow as a player and as a person, especially the Old Lady, where I spent most of my career. Thank you, Italy, I will always be grateful. Uploading all these photos makes me realize how good God has been to me.”

Cuadrado’s message reflects the significance of his European career and the gratitude he feels towards the clubs and people who helped shape his journey. Juventus clearly remains one of the most important parts of that story as he begins this new chapter with Millonarios.
