Estudiantes de La Plata face Gimnasia in the fifth-round interzonal of the Torneo Clausura 2026 on Saturday, seeking a derby lift.
As reported by SuperDepor.com.
Kick-off is at 16:45 at the Estadio UNO Jorge Luis Hirschi, live on ESPN Premium. Yael Falcón Pérez will referee, with Héctor Paletta on VAR.
Alexander Medina’s side enter the clásico after a 1-1 home draw with Universidad Católica de Chile in the Copa Libertadores round of 16 first leg, and two straight league defeats. The Uruguayan has fitness doubts, with Guido Carrillo managing workload, Tiago Palacios nursing a heavy knock and Eric Meza under assessment. Joaquín Correa is an option and could make his first start since returning.
Gimnasia arrive with contrasting league form under Ariel Pereyra, three wins in a row for nine points from 12, most recently a 2-0 over Barracas Central. The coach is weighing changes and may drop the two-striker setup to bolster midfield. Germán Conti has been passed fit, Juan Cruz Cortazzo could continue, and Agustín Auzmendi or Agustín Colazo are competing to lead the line.
This will be the 193rd official clásico platense. The last meeting, on 15 February at El Bosque, ended 0-0, and Estudiantes are seven unbeaten against their rivals.
