Ethan Ampadu has signed a four-year Leeds United contract to 2030.
According to Leeds Live, the Welshman had no intention of waiting for other summer offers and is focused on staying. After a season that brought multiple player of the year awards, he believes momentum can be built while remaining realistic about the hurdles ahead.
Chairman Paraag Marathe described immense relief after a highly stressful yet rewarding campaign. He praised the backroom, medical and recruitment teams for ignoring outside noise and keeping players fit.
Marathe outlined a three-year plan to secure permanent Premier League residency. He noted Leeds has the organic potential to compete internationally once that stability is achieved.
He admitted the club made poor financial and recruitment decisions after their previous promotion. Future signings, he stressed, must fit the manager's system and genuinely want to play for Leeds.
Elland Road’s phased expansion will bring noticeable disruption for supporters next season. The approach is designed to ensure no seating capacity is lost on matchdays.
To remain financially competitive under new squad cost rules, the club intends to lean on its academy, prioritising prospects such as Harry Gray rather than reckless spending in the market.
Marathe also confirmed continued active involvement with Rangers despite stepping down as vice-chairman, suggesting the link could still enable mutually beneficial player movement in future.
