Foreign-player cap to hit Vasco, which players could make way by 2027 | OneFootball

Vasco have 11 foreign players in their squad and look set to be among the clubs most affected when new per match limits start in 2027.

According to Globo.com, Série A and Série B clubs approved on Monday a gradual cut in non-Brazilian players per match, targeting five per club by 2030, with annual review.

Vasco's foreigners are Andrés Gómez, Carlos Cuesta, Colidio, Lescano, Marino Hinestroza, Nuno Moreira, Puma Rodríguez, Rojas, Saldivia, Sosa and Spinelli. Angolan Loide Augusto is not included as he is at the club but not training with the first team under Pedro Emanuel.

On-loan Carlos Cuesta, at Galatasaray of Türkiye until December, would cost €5.75 million, R$ 36.6 million. His stay is not ruled out, but Gabriel Pereira has arrived and his form to December will guide Vasco’s call.

Nuno Moreira, a 2025 standout, was omitted against Coritiba on Saturday under the quota. With no enquiries last window, recent signings have pushed him down the order and his 2026 form has underwhelmed.

Rojas is on loan from Monterrey and is unlikely to have his option exercised after uneven displays. He is not a starter and should leave at the end of the year.

Saldivia has improved but is not first choice and had an unstable spell, while he turned down offers in the last window. Spinelli cost more than R$ 12 million early in the year, has yet to deliver, and with Colidio and Bruno Duarte added, a 2027 exit is not ruled out.
