Former Leeds coach Michael Skubala appointed Bristol City manager on three-year deal | OneFootball

Bristol City have appointed former Leeds United coach Michael Skubala as their new manager on a three-year deal after he stood out in the interview process, the club said.

Skubala joined Leeds in July 2022 to lead the under-21s, then stepped up as interim head coach in February 2023 following the sacking of Jesse March. He later worked as first-team coach under Javi Gracia while continuing his under-21 duties.

In November 2023 he took his first senior management role at Lincoln City. The Imps narrowly missed the 2023-24 play-offs, then finished 11th in his first full season.

The 2025-26 campaign proved transformative, with Lincoln breaking records and winning League One with 103 points to seal promotion to the Championship.

Lincoln now head into their first Championship season without Skubala. Bristol City also have sporting director James Ellis in place, and the new boss views the role as a significant opportunity, with pre-season preparations already under way.
