Santos edged Remo 2-1 in Belém, with Rony opening the scoring after combining smartly with Gabigol. Remo levelled late following a goalkeeping error, before Gabigol converted Gabriel Bontempo’s corner for the winner.

Rony was lively down the left and took one of the few clear first-half chances before finishing neatly after his exchange with Gabigol. Late substitutes Caballero and Thaciano saw little of the ball, and Gabriel Menino arrived in stoppage time, missing a presentable chip. Coach Cuca’s side were flat for long spells, improved after the break, and the victory owed more to individual interventions than to tactical tweaks.
