Fotomac reports that Galatasaray have reached a final decision to bring 20-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt talent Can Uzun to RAMS Park for the 2026-27 season.
The move is positioned as central to Okan Buruk’s long-term project, with the forward seen as a potential cornerstone.
Uzun’s path has opened following a widely discussed tactical fallout with Frankfurt head coach Albert Riera. After a blistering start to 2025-26, scoring eight and supplying several assists, his minutes dropped once Riera publicly criticised his defensive work and off-the-ball movement.
Previously valued at €80 million, the asking price is said to have fallen to about €40-45 million amid the dispute. Inside Galatasaray, it is viewed as a bargain for president Dursun Özbek.
Three factors drive the push. Uzun’s Turkish citizenship means he will not count against Süper Lig foreign quotas, he has already scored against Galatasaray in this season’s Champions League, and he has been named in Türkiye’s final 2026 World Cup squad alongside Arda Güler and Kenan Yıldız.
AC Milan, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have monitored the situation, yet Uzun is said to be attracted by the chance to become a club icon in Istanbul. He is under contract until 2029, but his wish for a fresh start at home has pushed talks into their final phase, with completion expected in the coming days before the World Cup begins.
