Ajax beat NAC Breda 2-0 at the Rat Verlegh Stadion, climbing from fifth to fourth in the Eredivisie as Mika Godts and Oscar Gloukh struck before the break.
In the 20th minute Oscar Gloukh guided in from the centre of the box after smart work by Godts. The Belgian forward then doubled the lead from close range (41.) following Wout Weghorst's break and square pass.
After the restart, Maarten Paes kept the cushion intact with saves from Mohamed Nassoh and Kamal Sowah as NAC chased a way back. Substitute André Ayew threatened with headers, but the visitors' back line stood firm.
Rayane Bounida rattled the left post in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time as Godenzonen closed it out.
NAC Breda had 57.5% possession, 21 attempts and 11 corners, but found the target only three times. Godenzonen registered eight attempts, six on target, and made their first half ruthlessness count.
NAC Breda remain 17th and visit Utrecht next. Godenzonen host PSV next.
