Grêmio’s Jéssica de Lima to assist Arthur Elias for Brazil’s friendlies against Argentina in October | OneFootball

Jéssica de Lima, head coach of Grêmio’s women’s team, will join Brazil’s senior staff as assistant to Arthur Elias for the 2-14 October FIFA window, when the Seleção play Argentina twice.

According to Globo.com, the appointment was confirmed by Women’s National Teams coordinator Cris Gambaré during Tuesday’s squad announcement. The fixtures are scheduled for 10 October at Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre and 13 October at Arena de Pernambuco, with kick-offs at 16:30 and 20:30 respectively.

It will be Jéssica’s second stint with the national set-up. She previously worked with the under-20s from 2019, contributing to Conmebol Evolución success in 2021, the 2022 South American title and Brazil’s best Women’s Under-20 World Cup finish that year.

Jéssica joined Grêmio in March after the first three rounds of the Brasileiro Feminino. Under her, the side ended the Série A1 first phase with the best points return and highest tally among the coaches who led the club in that span, securing a quarter-final place.

Before Grêmio, she had a notable spell at Ferroviária from 2022 to June 2025, overseeing almost 100 matches. The club won the Copa Paulista Feminina, finished 2023 Brazilian runners-up, earned three Libertadores Feminina qualifications and a 2024 Supercopa do Brasil Feminina berth.

She now returns to the Seleção for another period of work, this time with the senior team. The Argentina friendlies form part of Brazil’s preparation for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
