SC Heerenveen have completed the signing of Ringo Meerveld. The midfielder joins from Willem II and signed a four-year contract on Monday.
“Ringo has consciously chosen the plan we’ve outlined for him at SC Heerenveen, and we’re very pleased with that,” said Heerenveen’s technical manager Johan Hansma, through the club’s media channels. “He’s a versatile player with guts, strong dribbling, and refined technique. His arrival adds extra creativity and variety to our team. We look forward to further developing his qualities together with him.”
Meerveld scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists in 115 matches at Willem II. “The decision to leave Tilburg was a well-considered one. I’m ready for a new environment and want to continue competing at the highest level. I want to thank all Willem II players for their support, and hopefully we’ll see each other again soon in the Eredivisie,” Meerveld said on the Willem II club website.
Heerenveen have already signed Dylan Vente, Maxence Rivera, Vasilios Zagaritis, Joris van Overeem, Nordin Bakker, Maas Willemsen and Nolhan Courtens this summer.
