Leon Goretzka is set to leave FC Bayern at the end of the season, and now there is apparently a clear favorite in the race for the midfielder
Leon Goretzka’s future is taking shape and , according to Sport BILD, AC Milan are currently the favorites to sign the Bayern star
According to the report, there has already been intensive contact between the Italian top club and the 31-year-old’s player side. According to the report, a contract until 2029 is on the table for Goretzka, with a potential salary of around five million euros per year
This would mean the international would have to make significant financial sacrifices compared to his current salary at FC Bayern. Goretzka is currently set to earn around €13 million in Munich. In return, he can apparently look forward to a central role in Milan – and probably also participation in the Champions League next season
For Goretzka, this marks the end of a long and successful time at FC Bayern. Since moving to Munich from Schalke on a free transfer in the summer of 2018, the midfielder has won numerous titles with the record champions
The biggest triumph came on 23 August 2020, when Bayern won the Champions League with a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. Goretzka played the full 90 minutes on the pitch and was one of the absolute top performers in the treble-winning team
In the first few years in particular, the Bochum native regularly impressed with his dynamism, physical presence and goalscoring threat from midfield. Goretzka was also always held in high regard internally
His professionalism was also particularly appreciated at FC Bayern, and although his role has diminished over the years, Goretzka has never caused any internal unrest
In line with the ongoing transfer rumors, preparations are apparently already underway for the midfielder’s departure from Munich
As reported by the Münchner Merkur, Goretzka is planning a large private farewell party for Wednesday. What is particularly striking is that a strict dress code is to apply for the event, with guests having to wear all white

In addition to numerous Bayern players, selected club employees and close companions are also to be invited. According to the report, the planned „White Party“ is already being seen internally as a symbolic farewell to the midfielder from FC Bayern
Goretzka recently made the headlines once again during the 1-0 away win in Wolfsburg, when the international took a free-kick from Konstantinos Koulierakis on the head with full force and later had to be substituted due to dizziness
„He took a brutal blow to the head from the free-kick,“ explained sporting director Christoph Freund after the match. „He wasn’t feeling too well during the break.“
