Corinthians will be without goalkeeper Hugo Souza and midfielder André Carrillo for the Brasileirão trip to Fluminense on the first of April.

ge.globo reports that the club explored chartering two planes to return the pair in time, but dropped the idea due to cost and the physical toll.

Hugo Souza is with Brazil for friendlies against France and Croatia on 27 and 31 March, and a near nine-hour Orlando to Rio de Janeiro journey was considered detrimental to his condition.

Carrillo is with Peru for games against Senegal and Honduras in Spain on 28 and 31 March. He is under managed training loads and has been withdrawn before full time regularly.

Coach Dorival Júnior can turn to goalkeepers Kauê, 22, and Felipe Longo, 21, to cover Hugo Souza. In midfield, options include Matheus Pereira, Allan, Charles and Rodrigo Garro, with Breno Bidon able to drop deeper.

With the duo out, Corinthians are set to have at least five absentees. Memphis Depay and Hugo Farias are injured, and Raniele is suspended.

The game arrives amid a run of seven matches without a win for Corinthians. In the league they have 10 points and sit 11th.
