Italian Super Cup back in Milan, Final Four scrapped, Inter to face Lazio on 22 December | OneFootball

After four consecutive editions in Saudi Arabia, the Italian Super Cup will return to Milan in December, reverting to a one-off tie between Inter Milan and Lazio.

According to L'Équipe, the match will be staged at San Siro, and Serie A had previously moved the event to Riyadh under a partnership with Saudi Arabia, without giving a reason for that deal ending.

It follows six of the last eight editions being held away from Italy, a sequence interrupted only by the Covid-19 crisis.

The league has also confirmed a format change, dropping the four-team Final Four and restoring a single game between the Serie A champions and the national cup winners.

With Inter Milan having completed the Serie A and Cup double in 2026, the Nerazzurri will face Lazio, the cup finalists in mid-May, on 22 December in Milan.
