Vardy played in Sheffield Wednesday's youth setup.
Jamie Vardy has gifted English football some of its most iconic moments, from his Premier League title win with Leicester City to his audacious celebrations.
At 39, the forward does not have long left in his playing career, but he still has the chance to make history as he strives to guide Italian outfit Cremonese clear of Serie A relegation.
There are even murmurings that the Sheffield-born man might return to England for one last dance, which would be unsurprising given his media outings of late.
Indeed, while reflecting upon some of his memories from playing in English football, Vardy picked out a particular moment that occurred while playing against Sheffield United.

If anyone knows how to wind up opposition supporters, it is Vardy.
During his time in England, the forward was a lethal force in front of goal, netting 145 times in over 300 Premier League appearances, while he was also awarded the Golden Boot at the end of the 2019-20 season.
The forward was simply irresistible at times and played a significant part in Leicester's title-winning campaign in 2015-16, while he also earned 28 England caps, representing his country at the World Cup and the Euros.
When Vardy scored in front of the away end, you just knew what was coming, with his eagle celebration against Crystal Palace summing up his humour.
In an interview with SPORTbible, the 39-year-old was asked what his best wind-up moment was, a question that clearly got him thinking.
He said: "The one I loved was Sheffield United away, cupping my ears to their Kop and just seeing everyone firing their middle finger back at me, priceless," before shaking his head.
Indeed, the moment that the forward is referring to is his first goal of the Foxes' 2019-20 season, when he netted the opening goal at Bramall Lane to send them on their way to a 2-1 victory.
Vardy's opener was cancelled out by Ollie McBurnie before Harvey Barnes bagged the winner, with Leicester going on to finish fifth as the Blades finished in ninth.

Vardy still has two games remaining of the season to play for Cremonese, with the club one point adrift of safety and games against Udinese and Como left to play.
When the campaign is done and dusted, the former Halifax Town man will need to decide on his future, with his contract set to expire at the end of June.
Ironically, there have been reports that Vardy could return to Leicester this summer, with the 39-year-old said to be interested in a move to the King Power Stadium.
His wife, Rebekah, has poured cold water on such a move, though by claiming that it was fake news in response to a social media post.
The boyhood Sheffield Wednesday supporter and his wife were recently in attendance at the King Power to watch the Foxes lose to Swansea City in the Championship.
Leicester have since been relegated to League One after being deducted six points for breaching Profit & Sustainability (PSR), with the East Midlands outfit finishing five points adrift of 21st-placed West Brom.
Whether Vardy would be willing to play in England's third tier of football remains to be seen, but as long as he stays clear of Bramall Lane, Sheffield United supporters can keep their middle fingers in their pockets.
