Jamie Vardy’s move to US Cremonese took his family to Lake Garda, but a burglary, off-field strains and relegation have seen them return to Britain. The 39 year old has said he intends to leave Cremonese when his contract ends this summer.

According to the Mirror, ITV will air a three-part series, The Vardys, charting the move, with Vardy recalling an early muscle problem that left him watching his planned debut from the stands.

Rebekah Vardy wrestled with housing and schools for Taylor, 16, Sofia, 12, Finley, nine, and Olivia, six. Taylor initially stayed in the UK with Rebekah’s father, Carlos. To help Sofia settle, the family even shipped her grand piano before moving into a lakeside apartment.

Language barriers left Olivia struggling to integrate at school, while British staples such as baked beans, gravy and squash proved hard to source, so relatives sent supplies.

Their home was targeted while they were out, leaving Rebekah on edge and missing a watch, and at one stage considering taking the children back to the UK.

On the pitch, Vardy produced seven goals and three assists in 29 games but could not prevent Cremonese going down. He has stated he plans to depart once his deal runs out.

The programme hints they nearly moved to the Netherlands last season, so Feyenoord could be an option. An English club would keep the family closer to home, and Vardy says having his loved ones around remains a priority.
