Nuno Espirito Santo has selected his West Ham lineup vs Charlton Athletic for this afternoon’s Championship game at the London Stadium.

The experienced Portuguese boss stayed on after relegation to try to secure an instant return for West Ham to the top flight.

West Ham kicked off their Championship push by throwing away a two-goal lead away at Burnley to draw 2-2 and Nuno will want things tightened up at the back today.

The Hammers have continued to do transfer business, notably snapping up Joel Piroe, who scored 19 goals the last time he played in the league, and Nuno was a major driver behind the swoop.

Attacker Pablo, who was forced off by a calf injury in the Burnley game, misses out on today’s clash.

Jarrod Bowen, who is staying put at West Ham to try to push them to promotion, has stressed that consistency will be key, as well as making home advantage count, which they must do today.

The two sides last met in 2020 in the EFL Cup, with West Ham easing to a 2-0 win over Charlton at the London Stadium.

Prior to that encounter, the two played last in 2007, when both clubs were in the Premier League, and Charlton ran out 4-0 winners.

Charlton’s last win away at West Ham happened over 20 years ago, in 2002.

In goal in the West Ham lineup vs Charlton Athletic today is Mads Hermansen, while Kyle Walker-Peters, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Max Kilman and Ollie Scarles form the back four.

In midfield, Nuno goes with Mohamadou Kante and Arne Engels, with Jarrod Bowen and Manor Solomon supporting Joel Piroe and Taty Castellanos.
