Julien Lopez will leave Paris FC at the end of the season after nine years with the club, the 34-year-old attacking midfielder said in an Instagram post on Tuesday. He is out of contract.
Lopez joined in 2017 and has played 261 matches, scoring 31 goals and supplying 16 assists. Those numbers make him the club’s fourth-highest scorer and third on the all-time appearances list, behind Vincent Demarconnay on 372 and Lamri Laachi on 270.
In his message he said it was time to close the chapter after a decade with Paris FC. The Marseille native reflected on signing his first professional deal at 25 and reaching Ligue 1 at 33, achievements he said he had never imagined.
He also thanked his brother, Maxime Lopez, who joined Paris FC in 2024, saying sharing the pitch together was beyond words and would remain with them for life.
Injuries have restricted Lopez to seven appearances in all competitions this season. His most recent outing came on four February, a 0-2 defeat at Lorient in the Coupe de France last 16.
