While Juventus are grasping at straws after losing several men, the players they sent out to other teams during the summer are off to promising starts. Vasilije Adzic and Adin Licina are turning heads at Sassuolo and Cremonese. Even Jonathan David showed signs of life at Atletico Madrid, scoring his first goal in months.

The Montenegrin starlet bagged a late-game winner in the recent fixture against the Neroverdi. He has hit the net three times already, once in the Coppa Italia, and dished out one assist, getting plenty of minutes due to Kristian Thorstvedt’s slow start and Ismael Kone’s leg fracture.

According to Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), Juventus won’t lose control of Adzic. Sassuolo spent have a €12M option to buy, but the Bianconeri will be able to bring him back for €1.7M. They turned down an offer from Germany to sell him outright. He made 17 appearances with them last season, albeit mostly short cameos off the bench.

Licina headed to Cremonese after a campaign with their Primavera and Serie C squads. He has found the target twice and assisted once in his first three showings. The Old Lady poached him from Bayern Munich, as they had done with Kenan Yildiz. He mostly plays as an inverted winger on the opposite side of the pitch.

They surely could use the former now, but Luciano Spalletti had him for quite some time and never did much with him. A spell elsewhere was necessary so as not to thwart his growth. The fault doesn’t lie only with the coach’s miscalculation, though. If the brass had gotten rid of more outcasts, they would have had room and minutes for their youngsters.
