Corinthians lost 2-1 to Flamengo at the Maracanã in the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship. According to Meu Timao, the result also moved Kaio César into the club's top three for assists this season.
The visitors' goal arrived on 32 minutes of the second half, created by Kaio César. Breno Bidon drove through the middle and found the winger, who combined with Rodrigo Garro before laying off for Gui Negão to finish.
That pass took the 23-year-old to three assists in 2026, level with Gustavo Henrique and Matheus Bidu in third. The trio sit one behind Yuri Alberto and Matheuzinho, who have four apiece, while Garro leads the chart.
Pedro Raul, André Luiz, Zakaria Labyad and Memphis Depay have two assists each. Dieguinho, André Carrillo, Jesse Lingard, Allan, Breno Bidon, Vitinho and Ryan are on one.
Kaio César has now contributed to a goal in back-to-back matches. His last positive run came between May and July, when he scored in the 3-0 win over Grêmio and, after the World Cup break, netted against Remo.
The defeat in Rio extends Corinthians' difficult league spell to five consecutive losses. They remain 13th on 32 points, with the gap to the Série A relegation zone reduced.
Attention now turns to Wednesday at 21:30, when Corinthians host Estudiantes at Neo Química Arena in the Copa Libertadores quarter-final second leg.
