Ki-Jana Hoever is expected to leave Wolves this summer after he was left out of the club’s pre-season camp in Portugal. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the defender did not travel with Cesar Peixoto’s squad to the Algarve.
The 24-year-old and the club are working on a solution, with one year left on his deal. He has remained at home to focus on arranging a move.
The Dutchman joined from Liverpool in 2020 in a deal worth up to £13.5million and has struggled to nail down the right-back role. He has made 33 senior appearances for Wolves and spent time on loan at PSV, Stoke, Auxerre and Sheffield United.
Tolu Arokodare has also stayed behind as he closes in on a move, after Fiorentina and Trabzonspor both had loan bids rejected. Sam Johnstone is the other senior absentee from the Portugal camp.
His absence relates to ongoing rehabilitation from a shoulder injury, and he is also likely to leave during the window. Manchester United showed interest but have since signed Karl Darlow, while Everton are the latest club to be linked.
