Wolves’ day two in Portugal brought an exclusive look at Cesar Peixoto’s players in a sharp and demanding morning session.

As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, after working until 11.20pm on Monday to finish the latest piece marking 10 years since Fosun bought Wolves, it was an early dash to the training base.

The heat is punishing, though cloud cover made this opener manageable, with sterner weather likely later in the week.

Drills were structured and simple, but the intensity never dipped. Peixoto drove his players hard, work they will lean on through a long Championship campaign.

Mateus Mane looked sharp and stronger. There was also a first sight of new arrivals Kieran Trippier and Rafiki Said, with more analysis to follow this week.

A daily video was filmed pitchside before a quick return to upload and to publish the latest on Ki-Jana Hoever. The defender is expected to leave this summer and, like Tolu Arokodare, has not travelled to Portugal.

With three right-backs already in camp in Trippier, Pedro Lima and Jackson Tchatchoua, a departure would be logical. The move has not worked, and after 33 appearances in six years the window should bring a solution for all parties.

The afternoon was spent writing, filing training analysis and preparing interviews for a busy week. France v Spain filled the evening, and attention now turns to England against Argentina on Wednesday’s semi-final before it is back to work.
